{"id":258,"date":"2022-06-24T18:36:59","date_gmt":"2022-06-24T16:36:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/zoomeuropa.com\/?page_id=258"},"modified":"2023-12-14T16:03:05","modified_gmt":"2023-12-14T15:03:05","slug":"about","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/zoomeuropa.com\/?page_id=258","title":{"rendered":"ABOUT"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-primary-color has-text-color\" id=\"about-zoomeuropa\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">ABOUT ZOOMEUROPA<\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-63e4e834-8e10-40b2-95d1-c6b032b13782\" style=\"line-height:1.1\">When the Gandy Gallery took root in Prague (Czechoslovakia) in 1992, shortly after the fall of communism in Central and Eastern Europe, the stranglehold on local creation had only just been loosened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-759fdf9c-57d9-4bf7-9c16-c77994b62e79\" style=\"line-height:1.1\">The gallery moved to Bratislava (Slovakia) in 2005, whose central geography (close to Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, the Balkans\u2026) gives it a position at the crossroads of cultures. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-6bba1e3b-648e-4ed3-a9b2-496daeea94b7\" style=\"line-height:1.1\">The exploration of forgotten neighbourhoods is also on the association\u2019s programme, as well as workshops for Roma communities, such as the basketry workshop led in 2009 by the designer Matali Crasset at Szendr\u0151l\u00e1d (Hungary) under the impetus of the Syrian artist Roza El Hassan. The core of ZoomEuropa\u2019s activity remains however the support and accompaniment \u2013 financial and\/or human \u2013 of artists, curators, curators of institutions and art centres from Central, Eastern, and Balkan Europe, through a variety of aids (for productions, residencies, exhibitions, publications\u2026).
